Manual Lathe / Mill / Cylindrical Grinder Operator

We have a vacancy for a Manual Centre Lathe / Turret Mill / Cylindrical Grinder Operator.
The right candidate must have experience operating these machines and will to be flexible to take on different jobs on the various machines.
We are a well-established engineering company situated on the outskirts of Colchester. We are a small friendly team and benefit from a newly extended and well-equipped machine shop.
Experience
- Apprentice trained in an engineering environment is preferable
- Good English & Maths
- Manual lathe experience - essential
- Manual mill experience – essential
- Cylindrical grinding experience – essential
– Jones and Shipman Suprema an advantage but training will be given.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate Centre Lathes, Turret Mill, Cylindrical Grinder
- Check manufactured parts for compliance to drawing
- Ensure Health & Safety guidelines and practices are following in line with company policy
- Assist with problem solving issues.
- Flexible to work between required machines

- Working hours Mon-Thu 7.45-4.30, Fri 7.45-1.00

CNC Miller Machine Programmer / Setter / Operator
Full time – Permanent
We have a vacancy for a CNC Miller who has experience and can programme, set and operate our Haas Mini mill.
If you have experience using a cylindrical grinder we may ask you to split your time using this machine as well, as we have a heavy workload.

- 3rd & 4th Axis CNC Milling essential
- Cylindrical grinding a bonus
Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate machine
- Check manufactured parts for compliance to drawing
- Ensure Health & Safety guidelines and practices are following in line with company policy
- Assist with problem solving issues.

- 38 1/4hrs per week, Mon-Thu 7.45am-4.30pm (half hour lunch break) Fri 7.45am-1pm
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

Own transport a must due to rural location.
Salary negotiable in the range of £28-32k depending on experience.
